oh how we lucked out with this lovely day. it was absolutely beautiful out on the weekend kelsey & curtis made the trek from Lloydminster to have their engagement photos done. the fact that we didn’t have to worry about the cold was only a bonus - seriously had so many laughs and such a great time with these two. i’m so looking forward to hanging out with them on their wedding day in august.

it was just about a year ago that mandi & ian met on a blind date. i’d expect a blind date to be a bit awkward, but their meet up definitely wasn’t. even though they were both nervous, the conversation just flowed. the two hadn’t been dating long when they realized that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. fast-forward to today, and here they are, engaged and planning a wedding!
when mandi & ian were describing their wedding day, i couldn’t help but smile. it sounds like the perfect mix of a laid-back vibe and stylish details, so i’m itching for june to get here so i can capture it all! it’s pretty cool to hear them both so excited about the day itself…seems like ian is helping out a lot too:)
thanks for the lovely morning, mandi & ian…i’m so looking forward to your big day in june!

we’ve had one amazing winter this year. aside from the lack of snow, it’s been pretty gorgeous out, which means people are more than happy to have their picture taken outside! amanda & alec are getting married this july…and because of their love for snowboarding and outdoors-y nature, we decided some winter engagement photos might be in order. these two are so easy to be with…it was great getting to know them a bit better before the big day.

i mentioned in part 1 of dominique & micah’s wedding blog post that the details at this wedding were absolutely amazing. that’s part of the reason i blogged in two parts…because i wanted to be able to share tons of detail photos with you! from the adorable white dubble bubble candy machine favours to the table numbers made out of old books, it was obvious that dominique (& micah) had put great care into each detail that was a part of this wedding.
the reception was really full of fun and great laughs, which was fitting because hanging out with dominique and micah is definitely all about fun:) i especially loved when they played the shoe game…the looks on their faces were so priceless and everyone had a great time cheering them on in their guesses. thanks again, dom & micah, for the opportunity to be a part of such a beautiful day. enjoy the photos!

its about that time that i’m wondering what to make for dinner tonight. as i was looking through my recipes, i thought i might share what i’m planning with you…and you might like to try it out too! this (a little bit) spicy dish is sure to keep you warm in this chilly weather.
let me know what you think! :)

prepare yourself…this blog post is going to be a whole lotta photo. in fact, it was originally so long i had to split this post into two. if you remember dominique & micah from their engagement session back in the summer, you’ll remember that she is an EXTREME detail person…which means tons of fun images for you to check out from their big day.
dominique & micah do everything big - they love big, they live big, they smile big. i love that about them. when dominique came down the aisle with her dad, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house…and it wasn’t just the gorgeous details that dom had put together, or the fact that she looked absolutely gorgeous, but everyone in the room could just sense how much these two love each other. their excitement was beyond contagious.
check out a few of my favs from the first half of the day…and stay tuned for a whole lot more reception details in part 2!

i love me a sunny, winter day. snowy & sparkly. that’s exactly the kind of day janina & corey had for their wedding day just over a week ago, and it was really an honour to be a part of the event. i’ll actually never forget the look that janina’s dad gave her as they reached the end of the aisle…he looked so proud of her. i love that.
the couple’s bridal party might have been small in numbers, but we definitely had a lot of big-time laughter. these guys trekked through the snow and ice for the sake of lovely photos for their friends…not a small task! matt and i really enjoyed every minute we spent out on a gorgeous acreage with this beautiful group. janina & corey…thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your beautiful day! enjoy the photos:)

i don’t know what’s got into me lately, but i’m just loving soup. warm. comforting. delish.
i kid you not, i wanted to lick my bowl after gobbling down this tasty dish. you definitely need to try this recipe from one of my favourite cookbooks, two dishes. while you’re at it, try all the other recipes in there too! i seriously love them all:)

ah january. it is notoriously my worst blogging month…mostly because its my “recovery month”. after all the weddings, family photos, print orders, christmas photos and holiday madness, january is my month to re-group and get fresh inspiration for the new year. its good for me:) now that its almost february, i think you’ll be hearing a little more from me.
sarah has been one of my besties since high school, after we went on a school trip to belize and joined forces to fend off creepy crawlies and other jungle creatures. trust me, its a bonding experience…we’ve been friends ever since. sarah married jordon a couple years ago and they wanted some outdoorsy family photos with jordon’s family. loved hanging out with this family…they are pretty hilarious:) check out a few photos from our time together!

well, i’ve been waiting to blog this cute little session for awhile now…but because the photos were for christmas cards, i thought i’d better wait so that the photos could be a surprise to those receiving them:) i really had a great time with this family…there was lots of energy and lots of laughs through the session and of course little max is just the cutest! we were lucky enough to have warm weather and pretty light even though it was already november. check out a few of my favourites!
